Refund Policy

When we issue refunds, when we don't, and how to ask. Written plainly, because nobody should need a lawyer to understand a billing question.

Effective September 26, 2023 Last updated August 16, 2026

The short version. Cancel during your 14-day trial and you're never charged, so there's nothing to refund. After that, subscription fees are billed in advance and aren't refunded for partial months — cancelling stops the next charge rather than reversing the last one. Setup work is refundable until we start building. If we bill you in error, we fix it, every time.

That summary is orientation only. The sections below are what applies.

SECTION 01The free trial

Your trial runs for 14 days from the moment your account is created. A valid payment method is required to start it, but no charge is made during the trial.

Cancel at any point before day 15 and you are never billed. There is no refund to request, because no money changed hands.

If you meant to cancel and the first charge went through anyway, say so — see Section 2.

SECTION 02Subscription fees

Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly. Each charge pays for the month ahead.

The general rule

Subscription fees are not refunded for partial months, and not refunded for months in which you didn't use the Service. Cancelling stops future charges; it doesn't reverse one already made. Your access continues to the end of the period you've paid for.

Where we make an exception

We would rather sort out a billing surprise than argue about one. We will refund the most recent subscription charge if:

  • you were charged after cancelling, or your cancellation didn't take effect because of a fault on our side;
  • you were charged twice for the same period;
  • you cancelled within [GOODWILL WINDOW — e.g. 5 days] of your first subscription charge and hadn't meaningfully used the Service in that period.

Requests outside these situations are considered case by case. We're not looking for reasons to say no.

SECTION 03Cancelling

Cancel at any time from Settings → Billing inside your account, or by emailing [email protected].

Cancelling is immediate in effect: no further charges are made. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, then the account closes.

Cancel before the trial ends and nothing is ever charged. There's no notice period, no cancellation fee, and no need to explain yourself — though we'd genuinely like to know what didn't work.

Export anything you want to keep before you cancel. Account data is deleted after a period following closure, as described in our Privacy Policy.

SECTION 04Done-for-you setup

Done-for-you setup is a one-time service, paid separately from your subscription.

Before work begins

You can cancel and receive a full refund any time before we start building — that is, before your onboarding call or before we begin configuring your account, whichever happens first. Email us within [WINDOW — e.g. 7 days] of purchase.

Once work has begun

The fee covers work we perform, so it isn't refundable once building has started. If something we built doesn't match what was agreed, tell us and we'll fix it — that's the remedy, rather than a refund.

If you cancel your subscription afterwards

The setup fee isn't tied to how long you stay. Work already delivered has been delivered, and cancelling the subscription later doesn't make it refundable.

If we can't deliver

If we're unable to complete the setup for a reason on our side, you get a full refund of the setup fee.

SECTION 05Messaging and usage charges

Email, SMS, voice and phone-number charges are billed on usage, separately from your subscription.

Messages already sent are not refundable. The cost is incurred with the carrier the moment a message goes out, whether or not it was delivered, opened, or produced a result. That includes messages sent by an automation you set up, and messages sent by team members on your account.

Carriers may filter or block messages for reasons outside our control. That isn't a billing error and isn't refundable.

An unused prepaid messaging balance is [refundable / non-refundable — DECIDE] on account closure.

SECTION 06Billing errors

If we charged you wrongly, we refund it. No window, no conditions, no argument. This applies whether the error was ours, our payment processor's, or a fault in the platform.

That includes duplicate charges, charges after a cancellation took effect, charges at the wrong amount, and charges to an account that should have been closed.

Email [email protected] with the date and amount and we'll investigate. If we got it wrong we'll say so and put it right.

SECTION 07If we end your account

If we suspend or close your account for a breach of our Terms of Service — messaging abuse, fraud, illegal use — fees already paid are not refunded.

If we close your account for a reason unconnected with anything you did, such as discontinuing the Service, we refund the unused portion of your current billing period.

SECTION 08Before you file a chargeback

If a charge looks wrong, email us first. Most billing questions are settled the same day, and a refund reaches you faster than a chargeback does.

A chargeback takes weeks to resolve, and while it's open we may suspend the account it relates to, which stops your automations and your messaging along with it. Filing one over a charge we would simply have refunded costs us both time and gets you your money slower.

We contest chargebacks filed for charges that were correctly made and clearly disclosed. We won't contest one where we got it wrong.

SECTION 09How to request a refund

Email [email protected] from the address on the account, with:

  • the date and amount of the charge;
  • the last four digits of the card, or the receipt;
  • what happened, in a sentence.

That's the whole process. There is no form, and you don't need to justify yourself — we just need enough to find the charge.

We'll acknowledge within [RESPONSE TIME — e.g. 1 business day] and tell you the outcome, with a reason either way.

SECTION 10How long it takes

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method — we can't send one anywhere else.

We process refunds within [PROCESSING TIME — e.g. 3 business days] of approval. After that it's out of our hands: how long it takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank, typically [e.g. 5–10 business days].

If a refund hasn't landed after that, contact us and we'll send you the processor's confirmation to take to your bank.

SECTION 11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes apply to charges made after the new "Last updated" date — we don't apply a new refund position retroactively to money you've already paid.

If a change is material, we'll give notice by email or in-app before it takes effect.

SECTION 12How to reach us

Billing question, or think a charge is wrong? Email us and a person will answer.
